Patience

Throughout life, one of the hardest words to hear is WAIT. Sometimes we may anxiously wonder, "Where is Baba when I  need Him?" And yet we are reminded in Sai SatCharitra "Why are you anxious? I will take all care of you.

Blessed are all those who wait for Him to help them. Patience is developed through faithful waiting. Baba has a design in even the most difficult situations that will enable our character to become stronger. As we learn patience, we also learn to trust that Baba has our best interests in mind. He cannot abandon us, and He will always rescue us at just the right time.

Baba Refines Our Faith

No one likes suffering. Bit it brings our attention back to Baba and reminds us how helpless we are without him.

Suffering refines our faith. The trivial is excised, the essential emphasized. Do we believe Baba in the face of it all? If so, we will grow and be strengthened. Suffering prepared us to comfort others. Words from smiling, indifferent faces to wounded hearts mean little; but words from a fellow sufferer support and uplift. Suffering removes artificial props of security and resets the stage of our personal world with new dependence on Baba.

Understanding Humility

Like a multi-faceted stone, the humble person's colors shine forth. By their nature, they are able to bear an injustice without retaliating, do one's duty even when one is not watched, keep at the job until it is finished, and make use of criticism without being defeated by it.

Humility actually means not thinking of oneself, but putting others first. We disregard our rights and ambitions so we can serve Baba by serving others. Arriving at a place of humility is a result of understanding the biblical advice to "serve each other with humble spirits", for Baba gives special blessings to those who are humble, but sets himself against those who are proud. If you humble yourselves under the mighty hand of Baba, in His good time He will lift you up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you Need Wisdom, Ask Baba

Having knowledge is not the same as having wisdom. The true test of wisdom is knowing how and when to act, according to Baba's will.

If any of you need wisdom, you should ask Baba, and it will be given to you. Baba is generous and won't correct you for asking. But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt.

Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. If you are that kind of a person, you can't make your mind, and you surely can't be trusted. a person can accumulate immense knowledge and still lack wisdom. Wisdom requires compassion, justice, humility and spiritual discernment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Service

To serve means to assist or be of use. Serving is one of the reasons we are on this earth and the reason Baba himself said that He came to earth. When we serve, we reach out to meet the needs of others; service is an outward sign that we belong to God and desire to do His will.

True service is not about grudgingly doing for others because of obligation, but an act that flows willingly, as a channel for Baba's love. True servants of Baba give not just with their hands, but with their hearts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perseverance

There are many events in our lives over which we have no control. However, we do have a choice either to endure trying times and press on or to give up. The secret of survival, whether or not we question Baba's presence or His ability to help us, is remembering that our hope is in the fairness, goodness and justice of God. When we put our trust in the character of a God who cannot fail us, we will remain faithful.

Our trust and faithfulness produce the endurance that sees us through the "tough stuff" we all face in this life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Humble Servant

This Jiva (human soul) transcends the three qualities, viz. Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas, but being deluded by Maya, he forgets his nature which is 'Existence-knowledge-bliss', and thinks that he is the doer and enjoyer and thus entangles himself in endless miseries and does not know the way of deliverance. The only way of deliverance is Loving Devotion towards the Guru's feet. The great Player or Actor Lord Sai has delighted His Bhaktas and transformed them into Himself (His nature).

We regard Sai Baba as an incarnation of God but He always said that He was an obedient servant of God. Though an incarnation He showed the people the way, how to behave satisfactorily and carry out the duties of their respective stations in this life. He never emulated others in any way, nor asked others to have something done for Him. For Him, Who saw the Lord in all movable and immovable things of this world, humility was the most proper thing. None He disregarded or disrespected; for He saw Narayan (Lord) in all beings. He never said, "I am God," but that He was a humble servant and He always remembered Him and always uttered - "Allah Malik" (God is the sole proprietor or Owner).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Integrity

When we think of integrity, we think of someone who is honorable and trustworthy - a person who keeps their word and guards their reputation. To be called a man or woman of integrity is a high compliment.

Such a person knows the difference between right and wrong and diligently pursues doing right, no matter what the obstacles. Baba provides the best example of a man of integrity; He was not swayed by outer influences but lived a life above reproach. Integrity comes not just from the pursuit of right living, but the pursuit of God, which leads to right living.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use Your Trials

The trials that come into our lives are the oppurtunities through which we learn patience

Use your trials. What is the purpose of the testing? Baba makes our trials the instruments of blessings. Too often our trials work impatience, but Baba will give grace that His real purpose may be accomplished. Patience is more necessary than anything else in our life.

We forget that time is nothing with Baba, for with Him a thousand years is as one day, and one day as a thousands years. Baba's purpose in our lives is that we shall be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Humility

Most of us realize that we are naturally self-centered, and we often respond to those around us in ways that make us appear proud, haughty, or arrogant. But if we look at Baba's life we see an excellent example of humility - an example that we should strive to follow.

He taught that pride was destructive, but humility was powerful. Rather than touting His own greatness, Baba was willing to kneel down and wash the feet of others, to show that we should all be servants to each others - and to God.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Know Not Why

Our lives are filled with many questions that may never be answered, but that's okay if we let Baba lead and direct us. We may not understand why certain things happen or why we have to go through difficult situations. But the one thing we can know for sure that Baba is always in charge.

We are sometimes faced with choices that are scary, risky and untried. But we can make wise decisions if we rely on Baba's spiritual guidance

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obstacles to faith

When a task requiring faith confronts us, voices around us may say, it can't be done ." The voice may even come from within us, and we may want to quit before we start, But if we hold on to faith, we can succeed, no matter what the critics say.

It takes faith to go beyond what others know - to explore new ideas, to stand on our convictions that there is something more, and to trust that Baba has called us to discover it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Awakening From Never-Ending "Sleep"

In order to re-orient us to the Spiritual Goal, the scriptures urge us to remember that the human birth is rare; it does not happen again and again; and it's most suitable for God-realization. Therefore, they remind us to make the best use of this wonderful opportunity and not waste even a moment in frivolous pursuits.

Since the unending state of our "sleep" or delusion is none other than the perversions or "impurities" of our mind, awakening from it is to rid the mind of these perversions.

Our mind is the instrument for receiving Self-knowledge. However, due to ignorance of the Self it identifies with the transient apparatus of the body-mind-intellect. As repeatedly urged in the scriptures, one who wants to "awaken" from the state of "sleep" and abide in the Self (Aatmaan) has to get over this mistaken identification by rooting out everything that falls in the category of the non-Self.

Looking at it from an another angle, the interesting thing to note about the mind is that, when it finds itself awake in Maya's delusion (ego), it's actually in a state of "sleep"! To the contrary, the moment it transcends the darkness of ignorance, it becomes "awake"! However, owing to our mental delusion, since we do not understand who actually is "awake" and who actually is "asleep", we call "sleeper" to be "awake" and "awake" to be "sleeper", and so on!

How can we root out everything that fall in the category of the non-self?

Just as one washes his dirty body and clothes with water and soap, the mind must also be cleansed of the impurities which impinge on it in the form of sensory inputs, by the soothing waters of the Divine Naam so that our false ego does not clog the Soul. Meditation of Divine Name is the mean to stay tuned to Baba, which ultimately will help one to accept everything in life in the proper perspective.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peace

Peace describes the state of being we all desire to have. The word "peace" brings to mind "the absence of war". It evokes images of people getting along with one another and living together in harmony. A similar sense comes from having inner peace: a quality of internal rest and calm. But neither kind of peace can be had without paying the price for it. We must release everything to Baba.

Baba wants us to know peace in every area of our lives - peace in our daily work, our business, our family; our soul. The key to letting peace enter in is to invite Baba into each of these areas daily.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Generosity

To become truly generous in spirit, we must change the way we think about our possessions.

When we say, "Please enter - my house is your house, my joy is your joy, my sadness is your sadness. "we have nothing to defend, since we have nothing to lose but all to give. Who will be our robber when everything he wants to steal from us becomes our gift to him? Who wants to sneak into our back door, when our front door is wide open?

All our opportunities, abilities and resources come from Baba. They are given to us to hold in sacred trust for Him. Cooperating with Baba will permit us to generously pass on to others some of the many blessings from His rich storehouse.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No More, No Less

What does humility really means? It doesn't mean we should look down on ourselves, but that we should accept ourselves for who we are, including the good and the bad.

We think humility to be like an inferiority complex and adopt a properly despondent look. Humility is no hangdog approach to life. Humility is simply seeing ourselves as we actually are, not higher nor lower. It means being gut level honest about ourselves. It means knowing who we are and owning that - and owning our emotions.

In Baba's scale of values, humility stands very high. He has always loved to advance the humble. Such a quality should be ever growing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The beautiful thought of Baba

See Baba differently, "In Him we live and move and have our being". Baba is not far from any one of us. In Him we live and flourish. Indeed, He is in everything around us, not that everything is Baba, but His presence is there, sustaining us in existence, with a love and tenderness that is ineffable, with a gentle understanding of our fragile weakness that can put to rest any fear of Him.

His love and understanding of our humanness is overwhelming, far beyond our ability to comprehend. We are His and He loves us as He made us and is with us as we walk through life, gently growing into His reflection.

Sai Satcharitra - Divine delicacies

The way Baba has chosen to show us that Sai Satcharitra is His word is a way that all men of average intelligence can understand . That way is through the giving and the fulfillment of specific, detailed prophecies. It is His Divine seal, letting all of us know that He has spoken . This seal can never be counterfeited.

Sai Satcharitra is like a unique & marvelous ambrosial plate, a holy container. Divine delicacies such as Truth Eternal, Contentment and  Bliss Eternal and Brahma Vichaar (Divine Wisdom) are thoroughly soaked  and prepared in the immortal Name. It has been so compassionately, so mercifully, so graciously presented to the whole mankind as a  spiritual food for all times to come by our Sadguru Sainath through  Hemadpant.

Baba blesses with liberation all those who partake of this Supreme Nectar of Immortality from this Infinite Ocean of Bliss.

Let us all endeavor to become fit and worthy of relishing this Divine feed and let this holy nourishment become our very sustenance and  life. Baba's Bani (vani) is spiritual nourishment for all seekers  of Truth and it will continue nourishing the yearning souls for all  times to come.

Let us all, in utter humility and reverence, worship and meditate on the Lotus feet of our beloved Sadguru Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total Surrender

Baba carved a golden path to blessedness for us; a sublime culture which is a sure path to blessedness. He planted the banner of Truth, the banner of Divine Peace and Universal Love, the banner of Righteousness and True Dharma.

When mind and body are offered at the Lotus Feet of the beloved Sadguru they are purified. With body attired in His identity, in His proud uniform and with mind rolling at His holy feet, the Divine controls both mind and body.

The mind remains dyed with the Nectar of the Divine Name and the body performs only pure and heroic deeds.

This in itself is indicative of a total surrender, a total sacrifice as the first and the foremost essential prerequisite for earning and attaining His Grace Eternal. We have to offer our head at His Holy Feet,  Thereafter, with headless (egoless) existence, having died while living, be blessed with Nectar of Immortality from the holy hands of our beloved Sadguru Sai Baba of Shirdi.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is all in our mind

The mind of most of us is usually filled with the stain called jealousy or enviousness. The evil instinct such as jealousy is responsible for causing more sufferings and miseries to people than any bodily diseases, without achieving anything. How's so? One who is jealous or envious of others wealth, success, qualifications, beauty, strength, prosperity, etc., feels painful and resentful at their betterment, and would feel happy only when some miseries befall on them. Along with many other demoniac instincts, the instinct of jealously or enviousness is born of the false ego. It is this false ego that gets hurt upon seeing others enjoying an advantage.

Jealousy is the root cause of strifes between individuals, groups, religions, communities, or countries. It grows in one's heart by stages and ultimately turns into hatred, which burns his entire life and leads to his downfall. Thus, it ends up in calamities and destruction. One in jealousy always plans to pull down the other. Inflicted with this envy, people do not hesitate wounding the sentiments of others by ridiculing their behavior or uttering harsh words.

The scriptures of all faiths describe God as being immaculate and pure. It is said that He has also made all of us in this pure image of Him.

The soul is made in the pure image of the Lord. However, it has been covered by ignorance born ego. This ego, being the offspring of false Maya (cosmic delusion) is also false. As we sink more and more in this false Maya, our mind becomes more and more deluded or filthier. We accumulate this filth for countless incarnations. As the scriptures tell us, the Maya is like a fly that always likes to sit on a filthy object (i.e., filthy mind).
